동화 R&D 인프라 업그레이드

동화의 R&D 경쟁력을 한층 강화해줄 중앙연구소가 모두의 기대 속에 그 문을 활짝 열었다. 그간 인천과 논산 등 사업 분야별로 각각 다른 곳에 분산돼 있었던 동화의 연구 시설과 인력이 마침내 한곳으로 집결된 것이다. 

지난 11월 15일 승명호 회장, 승지수 부회장, 김홍진 사장, 이시준 사장, 채광병 사장 등 임원진 26명이 참석한 가운데 중앙연구소의 준공을 기념하는 행사가 열렸다. 먼저 중앙연구소 콘퍼런스 홀에서 그간의 사업 경과를 설명하는 보고가 이루어졌다. 2020년 설계를 마치고 2021년 착공에 들어가 약 1년 6개월에 걸쳐 준공된 성공적인 결실에 모두가 박수를 보냈다. 

최고의 기술이 탄생할 공간

이날 승명호 회장은 기념사를 통해 ‘연구원들이 다니고 싶은 연구소, 미래를 함께하고 싶은 연구소’로 성장하길 바란다고 강조했다.

“연구소 준공을 계기로 동화는 기술 주도적인 기업이 돼야 합니다. 우리가 보유한 인력과 장비가 한데 모인 만큼 원활한 커뮤니케이션과 기술 융합이 이루어질 것을 기대합니다.”

중앙연구소의 시설을 소개하는 투어 시간도 가졌다. 동화 임원진은 각 층을 둘러보며 새로운 시너지가 발휘될 중앙연구소에 대한 기대감을 드러냈다. 이어 테이프 커팅식과 기념 식수 세리머니 등으로 축하 행사를 마쳤다. 동화그룹 소재·화학 기술의 산실로 거듭날 중앙연구소. 앞으로 동화의 미래를 견인해나갈 최고의 기술이 바로 이곳에서 탄생할 것이다.

Dongwha’s R&D infrastructure upgraded

Dongwha R&D Center has finally opened. It is now home to Dongwha’s research staff and facilities, which used to be dispersed in Incheon and Nonsan by sector. On November 15, Chairman Seung MyungHo, Vice Chairman Seung JiSoo, CEOs Kim HongJin, Lee SiJoon and Chae KwangByeong were among 26 executives to attend a ceremony marking the center’s completion. First, a report on the center’s construction was made at the conference hall. Everyone applauded the successful outcome of the one-and-a-half-year project, which included the center’s design in 2020 and the commencement of its construction in 2021. 

A technological cradle

In his address delivered at the ceremony, Chairman Seung MyungHo expressed hope that Dongwha R&D Center will become a workplace where researchers want to work and build their future together. “With the completion of Dongwha R&D Center, Dongwha must become a technology-oriented company. Now that our human resources and equipment are all in one place, I hope smooth communication and technological convergence will be possible.”

The executives also took time to tour each floor of the center, expressing hope that new synergies will be generated there. The ceremony ended with tape-cutting and tree planting. Dongwha R&D Center, a cradle of Dongwha Group’s materials and chemical technologies, is where the best technologies will be created to build a better future for Dongwha.
